Fabrizio Romano confirms Cody Gakpo will..see more
Liverpool are in the market for an attacker or two as they aim to move on from Mohamed Salah.
Hugo Ekitike’s injury blow is another problem for Andoni Iraola to solve, with the French international set to be unavailable for the first few months of the new season as he continues to recover from an Achilles injury.
The Reds wouldn’t want to deplete their frontline more, but Fabrizio Romano suggests Cody Gakpo could move on from Liverpool this summer amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham want to sign Cody Gakpo from Liverpool
The Dutch international has been a key player for the Reds in recent years, with his versatility making him an invaluable asset.
However, Gakpo has been linked with a move to Tottenham as Roberto De Zerbi aims to reinforce his attack.
“Keep an eye on Tottenham Hotspur and Cody Gakpo in the next weeks,” said Romano via Men in Blazers.
“They really like the player.”
Any attempt from Tottenham, or anyone else, is likely to be rebuffed swiftly by Liverpool. The Reds need to add to their attacking options, not deplete them further, so this, in our opinion, is an absolute non-starter.
And finally, Gakpo has a contract at the club until 2030 and has shown no indication of wanting to leave, so Liverpool are in a fantastic position.
