Bradley Barcola ‘reaches verbal agreement’ with Liverpool as blockbuster transfer advances
Liverpool have made Bradley Barcola a top target and Reds manager Andoni Iraola spoken to the Paris Saint-Germain star, who’s been valued at a jaw-dropping £145million
Bradley Barcola has reached an agreement in principle to join Liverpool after holding positive talks with Andoni Iraola. The Reds boss recently confirmed their plans to sign a winger and Barcola, 23, is a top target.
The Frenchman be allowed to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer for the right price. It’s been reported that PSG will demand a staggering £145million for his signature.
Now L’Equipe claim that Barcola has given his approval to the big-money move. However, Liverpool and PSG are still far away in their respective valuations of the ex-Lyon star.
It comes after Premier League rivals Arsenal decided against pursuing Barcola. The Gunners are instead prioritising a stunning move for Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior.
Barcola has helped the French club win back-to-back Champions Leagues. Since joining PSG for around £38m in 2023, the winger has scored 39 goals and provided 35 assists in 152 appearances.
During the World Cup, where he was in and out of France’s starting XI, he revealed that he was uncertain about his future at club level. “I’m focused on the World Cup,” Barcola said. “What happens after that, I don’t know.”
Meanwhile, Iraola told a press conference last week that Liverpool ‘definitely need to sign a winger’. “When the market is open, you have to be always open to new options to improve the squad,” the Reds boss explained.

“There are obvious situations where we need to sign players. Winger for example, we definitely need to sign a winger, but there are other situations where we will have to analyse what the market gives you, what is the cost, how we also see the players we have.”
Iraola also said: “With the centre-back, with the right-back situation, in terms of defensive depth, we are, I think, very thin right now so I think it’s a solution that we are trying to find, yes.”
Liverpool are currently on tour in the United States. The Reds beat Sunderland 4-2 in their first pre-season friendly on Saturday.
