Jeremy Jacquet says he has received a warm welcome from his new Liverpool teammates as he continues to settle into life at the club.

Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, the defender said he is building strong relationships across the squad during the club’s pre-season tour of the United States.

“They’ve given me a very warm welcome,” Jacquet said. “I’m getting to know them much better with every day.”

He admitted training in Chicago has been more demanding because of the heat but praised the coaching staff for managing the conditions with regular breaks.

Jacquet also revealed he has spent plenty of time with Trey Nyoni, Leo Giovanni Leoni, Hugo Ekitike and Jeremie Frimpong, joking that the Dutch full-back is “off his head”.

The 21-year-old joined Liverpool from Rennes this summer and is preparing for his first season at Anfield.
