The Redmi Note 8 series and other Xiaomi devices will stop receiving new updates as of November

Unfortunately, the bad news is back from Xiaomi. From the end of November this year, several Xiaomi smartphones, including the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8, will be left without support for new updates.

This has been communicated by the company itself, who after the launch of its latest MIUI beta has confirmed the exact date on which up to 9 of its smartphones will say goodbye to the beta program and therefore to the new features that will be developed from that moment.

From April, these Xiaomi will stop receiving new MIUI updates. In detail, it will be next November 27, 2021 when the Xiaomi Mi 9, Xiaomi Mi 9 SE, Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro, Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi K20, Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Edition, Xiaomi CC9, Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8 will see their development version stopped.

Thus, the end-of-life date for each of these smartphones will be November 27, receiving only those updates presented prior to that day through their various betas.

Likewise, it would confirm the fact that the Xiaomi Mi 9, Xiaomi Mi 9 SE, Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro, Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi K20, Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Edition, Xiaomi CC9, Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8 will not receive MIUI 13, as this update is expected to be released right at the end of the year in China and throughout 2022 in the Global market.

Mind you, this does not mean that Xiaomi will completely abandon each of these smartphones. It is very likely that they will still continue to receive security updates and major bug fixes.
