Jeremy Jacquet completed his move to Liverpool earlier this summer after a deal was agreed in January and it appears that his new teammates have already left an impression<\/p>\n
Jeremy Jacquet has said that new Liverpool team-mate Jeremie Frimpong is \u2018off his head\u2019 after opening up on his move to Anfield. The defender officially completed his switch to Merseyside this summer, after the Reds agreed a deal for his services back in January.<\/p>\n
The 21-year-old could make his debut for his new club during their packed pre-season schedule. Having already been at Liverpool for a few weeks, Jacquet has discussed the welcome he received, as well as his new teammates.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Stan Sport, he said: “Yeah, so far that has all been going very well. They’ve given me a very warm welcome. And I’m getting to know them much better with every day.”<\/p>\n
On the teammate he knows best, Jacquet added: “That depends\u2026 I’m trying to take the time to get to know everyone.<\/p>\n
“But I spend a lot of time talking with Trey [Nyoni] and Leo [Giovanni Leoni], I often chat to Hugo [Ekitike] too of course. But other than these guys, I chat to everyone. A lot with Jeremie [Frimpong] too, who’s off his head, by the way!”<\/p>\n
Jacquet also saved a special mention for Liverpool supporters ahead of his debut campaign. He said: “Yes, I’ve had lots of messages from the fans, and I’d like to thank them for that. It’s something that I really do appreciate, as I’d already received quite a few before I even arrived at the club.”<\/p>\n

Jacquet could potentially make his debut for Liverpool on Saturday evening, with the Reds set to take on Premier League rivals Sunderland.<\/p>\n
New boss Andoni Iraola has already spoken about the young defender and believes he is ready to make an instant impact at Anfield.<\/p>\n
Speaking last week, the Spaniard said: \u201cJeremy was a player that I knew very well, even before signing for Liverpool. Still being young, I think he has all the tools that we will need for that position.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe also came into the last months of the [past] season with a shoulder injury, but he is fully healed. He has been already training with the U21s. He\u2019s ready to go from the beginning.\u201d<\/p>\n
Following their clash with Sunderland, Liverpool have further games against Wrexham, Leeds, Monaco and Como. They will start their 2026\/27 Premier League campaign against Eddie Howe\u2019s Newcastle at St James\u2019 Park.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
