Former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey believes the Reds should consider selling Cody Gakpo if a serious offer arrives this summer, despite the forward’s versatility and experience at Anfield.<\/p>\n
Speaking to 10bet via Metro, Heskey said new manager Andoni Iraola should take a pragmatic approach as he reshapes his squad, while the BBC has reported there is a possibility Gakpo may never play under the Spaniard.<\/p>\n
“I would consider selling Cody if a decent offer was on the table,” Heskey said. “He is an asset who holds significant market value that you could cash in on to fund your own vision.”<\/p>\n
He added that a new manager must assess the squad “cold-headedly” when planning for the future.<\/p>\n
Gakpo joined Liverpool from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 and has spent three-and-a-half years at Anfield.<\/p>\n
