{"id":11720,"date":"2026-01-07T17:24:34","date_gmt":"2026-01-07T17:24:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/evutisblog.com.ng\/?p=11720"},"modified":"2026-01-07T17:25:30","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T17:25:30","slug":"despite-not-being-happy-with-liam-rosenior-appointment-john-terry-have-made-a-transfer-demand-from-him-and-heres-what-he-said","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/evutisblog.com.ng\/?p=11720","title":{"rendered":"Despite not being happy with Liam Rosenior appointment, John Terry have made a transfer demand from him and here&#8217;s what he said"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ohn Terry has urged the Chelsea board to give Liam Rosenior their immediate backing by releasing the funds needed to strengthen the squad in the January transfer window.<\/p>\n<p>Rosenior was officially unveiled as Chelsea\u2019s new head coach on Tuesday in the wake of Enzo Maresca\u2019s dramatic New Year\u2019s Day departure at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n<p>The 41-year-old, formerly the manager of BlueCo-owner Strasbourg, has put pen to paper on a five-and-a-half year contract, tying him to the Blues until 2032.<\/p>\n<p>However, Under-21 boss Calum McFarlane will remain in charge for Chelsea\u2019s clash with neighbours Fulham this evening, having led the side to a 1-1 draw with Manchester City at the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>While Maresca had ample credit in the bank after steering Chelsea to Europa Conference and Club World Cup glory, the Italian decided to call time on his 18-month tenure following a power struggle behind the scenes.<br \/>\nGet personalised updates on Chelsea every day<\/p>\n<p>Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro\u2019s Football Newsletter.<\/p>\n<p>Sign up to our newsletter and then select your team in the link we\u2019ll send you so we can get football news tailored to you.<\/p>\n<p>Results had dipped over the busy festive period, though, with the club winning just two of their last ten matches in all competitions.<\/p>\n<p>But victory at Craven Cottage could see Chelsea move into the top four before Rosenior even takes over the reins from McFarlane \u2013 and former captain Terry appears optimistic for the future.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I\u2019d just like to wish him all the very best and, more importantly, let\u2019s hope we can get some success and some trophies back to Stamford Bridge,\u2019 Terry told his followers on TikTok.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018And also, get a bit of stability at the club in the coming years. Hopefully he enables us to do that.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018But I\u2019d like to wish him and his staff all the very best. You have an opportunity as a manager to come in the building\u2026 players, everyone is going to be looking no doubt from a football perspective, all about results.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018But from a player perspective, you get an opportunity to gain the respect of the players in those first meetings, in those first training sessions as well and he\u2019s had a lot of experience with that as well so hopefully he manages to get that from the players.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Terry believes the objective is simple for Rosenior at the start of his reign \u2013 get Chelsea winning matches again, irrespective of performance.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018With the big fixture list that we have, he\u2019s not going to get much time to work on the training pitch with the players and implement his style or his tactics, how he wants to play, in a short space of time,\u2019 the ex-England defender added.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Like I said, the most important thing in the coming weeks is results and hopefully we can get that.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Terry feels further investment is required before the January transfer deadline, despite Chelsea splashing out in the region of \u00a3285million on new recruits last summer.<\/p>\n<p>Turning his attentions to the potential incomings at Stamford Bridge, Terry went on: \u2018Hopefully the board and the owners are going to back him and give him money to go in the transfer market and bring some players in.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Hopefully things will settle down now and we can concentrate on the football.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Listen, like all Chelsea fans, whoever the manager is and has been over the years as well, Chelsea fans will always get behind their manager and we\u2019ll look to do that on Wednesday.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>In his opening statement as Chelsea head coach, an \u2018excited\u2019 Rosenior said it was his goal to make supporters \u2018proud\u2019 of the team and what they represent.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I am extremely humbled and honoured to be appointed head coach of Chelsea Football Club.
