Former Chelsea player Pat Nevin believes there\u2019s a \u201cbuilt in problem\u201d at the club with the ownership wanting control.<\/p>\n
The Blues appointed Liam Rosenior as their new head coach on Tuesday, and he\u2019s signed a six and a half year contract at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n
Rosenior will be in the stands to watch Chelsea\u2019s game with Fulham on Wednesday, before taking charge of his first game against Charlton in the FA Cup.

Chelsea will be looking for some stability over the second half of the season after a turbulent start to the year with Maresca leaving on 1st January.<\/p>\n
One of the the Italian\u2019s main gripes was believed to be with what he perceived to be interference from above, and Nevin has claimed Chelsea have a \u201cbuilt in\u201d problem.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is a built-in problem that Chelsea and a number of other clubs have got just now,\u201d he told Tribal Football.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey want control. They want the manager to be a flak-catcher for when things go wrong, even when it\u2019s their fault. Even when it\u2019s upstairs\u2019 fault.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey want the guys sitting on the bench to get the hit. And these guys on the bench, they\u2019re not stupid. They know what\u2019s happening.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey know they are getting the flak when sometimes, not always but sometimes it\u2019s not their fault so there\u2019s the dilemma that they\u2019ve got just now.\u201d
\nLiam Rosenior told Champions League qualification is \u201ccritical\u201d<\/p>\n
Rosenior will be under pressure from day one, and his appointment hasn\u2019t been met with open arms from supporters.<\/p>\n
The 41-year-old needs to hit the ground running and start getting a tune out of the team, as Chelsea desperately need to qualify for the Champions League.<\/p>\n
